Our Perspective

The Healthy Communities Research Network is a collaborative web of scholars dedicated to the study, critique, and evaluation of civic, socio-cultural, and environmental dimensions of health and well-being within community life. Health, in this context, is defined broadly to encompass a full range of quality of life issues. Community is addressed, not merely geographically, but also in terms of communities that draw together people who share common interests. The aim of the network is to produce socially relevant findings and recommendations that will advance social science, guide policy, strengthen local communities, & improve quality of life.
